Gleason Score is a system which is utilized for determining the prognosis of prostate cancer in men.

Gleason score is a grading system that scores cancerous cells into five different patterns in the course of changing to cancerous from normal form. Cells that are close to 1 are considered low grade while those at 5 are taken as high grade as their mutation is high. Gleason score is specifically used to check the status of prostate cancer. For prostate cancer biopsy, gleason score starts from 6 and can last upto 10. Higher the gleaosn score, more is the severity of the cancer.
