Prostate Cancer is caused due to the inherited and acquired gene mutations among which the acquired type of prostate cancer is the more common one.

Prostate cancer is caused by both inherited and acquired gene mutations. The inherited gene mutations cause around 5% to 10% of the gene mutations. Some of the inherited mutated genes includes RNASEL, BRCA1, BRCA2, DNA Mismatch repair genes, HOXB13. If the prostate cancer is acquired then it means that cancer is acquired during the lifetime of the individual only.
