Epithelial tumors: This is the most common type of ovarian cancer which affects mainly the thin layer tissue covering the ovaries.
Germ cell carcinoma tumors: This type of ovarian tumor mainly affects the women in their early 20's.
Stromal carcinoma tumors: It mainly affects the connective tissue cells which surrounds the ovary and the ones which produce the progesterone and estrogen hormones.
Small cell carcinoma of the ovary: This type of cancer is rare. It mainly affects women and the average age is 24 years old.
